This view of Slippery Rock Creek at McConnells Mill State Park is looking upstream from the observation deck at the mill. Despite being a rainy day, I still made the trip and was glad that I did - the cloudy weather evened out the lighting, and the rain helped to bring out the colors in the leaves.
This scene is along Slippery Rock Creek in McConnells Mill State Park. This was a very dry Fall, so I would assume that this formation is normally hidden beneath the water. As with any long exposure shot, it is always an experiment with what shutter speed fits the scene the best and I found that in order to preserve the texture and movement of the current I needed a relatively fast (.25s) exposure. I liked the transition of warm colors being reflected from the foliage in the background to the cool blues in the front of the scene.
