This McConnells Mill waterfall is about a 10 minute walk upstream from where Skunk Run flows into Slippery Rock Creek. Skunk Run Falls isn't the largest waterfall in this region by any means but it does have a lot of character to it with the rock overhang to the right of this scene and the pool above the secondary drop in the center of the photograph.
Despite getting a decent amount of rain, Ohiopyle's Jonathan Run Falls was at a pretty low level when I visited. The fall foliage was just starting to turn as seen in the background and on the wet rocks of the waterfall.
This photograph was taken at Ohiopyle State Park's Meadow Run. You can get to this area by parking at the Meadow Run Natural Slides entrance and making your way downstream just a few hundred feet. I created this wide shot by stitching together four different photographs taken with a 40mm lens as using a wider lens wouldn't have produced the same perspective. Be sure to check out the panoramic sized prints for this one!
